I had the absolute joy of shooting this mini session of my neighbors. We ventured just around the block to this gorgeous meadow. We timed the session to be 30 minutes before sunset. This is a group of images from the series I created for this family. Although mini sessions come with 10 images, those 10 images are your choice. You will have 35+ images to choose from. My goal is to give you a variety of candid images, along with some posed images, in hopes that you will have far more than 10 images that you absolutely love.
What a joy it was to see my good old friend Betsy! She has not changed a bit, still gorgeous! This beautiful family battled the weather as a small wind storm came through in the beginning of our session. We ended up retreating to the dunes for protection from the wind. However, we got beautiful stormy skies in our images. It is important to find beauty in whatever the day may bring, in this case, we lucked out with no rain!
We luckily had a gorgeous night for the Bolduc family portraits! The sunset did not disappoint. These are good old friends from high school. As I edited these photos it was so wonderful to see their faces frame, after frame; they have not changed a bit!! We chose Saugatuck as our backdrop for this session. You can see that this location offers gorgeous dunes, beach grass and water views.
This was a special family session for me. It is not often that you move into a small community and find another LGBT family just around the corner! We have grown to know this sweet little family over the past year and cannot be more grateful to have friends like them our lives. We set out last week to capture some big mountain views at sunset and the night couldn't have been more perfect. You would never guess that it was sprinkling and threatening rain as we walked over to the gondola! What a beautiful night!
This beautiful family hails from all over the United States! They met in Beaver Creek for a family vacation. Daniel contacted me to have their extended family portraits taken in honor of his mother. In about 40 minutes we accomplished so many different types of groupings, as you will see below. Thanks to the cooperative group, this almost is never be accomplished in that short of a time! They suggested the park you see above. I wanted some mountain views for them to take home with them and luckily we found the ski run to the main lift fell right in the background, kismet! I also found some aspen trees, which are so central to Colorado's identity, as another background. I hope these family portraits grow more specials as the years go by.
This week I had several family portrait sessions! I am thanking my lucky stars that I am growing the family side of my business. Ever since having my own child I feel so much more drawn to making these images for growing families. This first session is a local Eagle, CO family.
Family Photos Vail, CO
This family is pretty special, because we share the same last name! I am now on a mission to see if there is any relation! I love families with little ones that are looking for authentic moments, not just images of everyone smiling for the camera. This is real life with a high energy three year old boy and I love it!
Vail, CO Family Photo Session
Often families from out of state call me for family portraits while they are on vacation here in Vail. They are looking for a few good photos for the Christmas card this year and a larger memento from their trip than just a t-shirt. ;)
Watch out world! This young woman is on a mission! Morgan has really focused on her coursework in high school and is currently fourth in her class! She has goals of becoming a doctor and is on her way to being one of Eaglecrest's valedictorians! I am thrilled that she chose me to capture her senior photos. Morgan and I found that we have a very special connection because Morgan is the daughter of two moms. We chatted until long after the sun set and could probably have talked all night. After getting to know Morgan and her mom, Amy, I can only hope that my daughter grows up to be as kind, intelligent and compassionate as this young woman. She is truly a stellar soul!
I like AJ's style, this session was so much fun. So much so that I think it is a great outline to a perfect senior portrait session. Here is the perfect recipe for a senior portrait session: -a beautiful lake at sunset -all of your soccer cleats -a senior guy and his jeep -a dash of your brother's favorite shirt -lots of willingness to be goofy, serious and then fun! Viola! The perfect session! I absolutely love working with the Garcia family. It is unbelievable that they have another graduate on their hands this year!
“The sun has only one day, you must live this day in a good way, so the sun won't have wasted precious time.” -Native American Saying I’m in love with Bridger’s newborn session. What a miracle it is to welcome this sweet little life into the world. Surrounded by love, he has his whole life ahead of him, so many days to feel the sun on his face and bring light to the world... it’s just wild to think that once upon a time each of us was new to this world. I often ask myself, “am I doing everything I can with this precious day?”
"Only where children gather is there any real chance of fun." - Mignon McLaughlin
Needless to say this was a fun session! In a single hour we rode the gondola to the top of Vail, walked to three locations for family fun and portraits, then headed back down the mountain. I understand bedtime routines; this family had a three year old, cute as can be, but he needed a short session and to be home fairly early. We made it happen and I am in love with how these turned out! Another fantastic aspect of this family photo shoot was that Sarah did an amazing job with the outfits! Everyone looks fantastic, their outfits go together, but don't necessarily match. Love it!
