An Intimate Aspen Wedding at Aspen Meadows Resort | Braiden & Connie
There is something incredibly special about a small, intimate wedding in Aspen. With fewer guests and only the people who matter most, the day becomes less about the production of a wedding and more about the people, the story, and the love being celebrated.
Braiden and Connie’s intimate Aspen wedding was exactly that.
They traveled to Aspen for a beautiful celebration surrounded by their closest family members. Rather than a large wedding, they chose to create an evening that felt personal, meaningful, and completely true to who they are.
Their wedding ceremony took place at Aspen Meadows Resort, tucked into the peaceful beauty of the Japanese Garden. Surrounded by their family, Braiden and Connie exchanged heartfelt vows in one of Aspen’s most beautiful and intimate settings.
And their story made the moment even more meaningful.
Braiden and Connie are both at a point in life where they understand just how rare it is to find a love that feels right. This was a second chance at finding the one for both of them—a new beginning after years of life, experiences, and searching.
But watching them together, there was no sense of this being a “second chance” at love.
It felt like they had finally found the love they had always been looking for.
Their ceremony was incredibly emotional. As their vows unfolded, there was so much tenderness between them and within the family surrounding them. As their photographer, I spend much of a wedding day looking through my camera, but there were several moments when even I couldn’t hold back the tears.
These are the wedding days I love most—the ones where the emotion is genuine and the photographs tell a story far beyond what was simply beautiful.
Family Photos with Aspen Mountain
Before the ceremony, we spent time photographing Braiden and Connie with their family, taking advantage of the incredible scenery surrounding Aspen Meadows Resort. With Aspen Mountain in the background, their family portraits became more than traditional wedding photographs—they became photographs of two families coming together to celebrate something new.
Braiden’s sister and her family were there, along with his daughters and their spouses. Connie’s daughters, a spouse, and a close friend were also part of the celebration.
It was an intimate guest list, but the love in the room was anything but small.
For couples considering a small wedding in Aspen, this is one of the things I love most about intimate celebrations. You have time to slow down. You can actually talk to the people who came to celebrate you. And there is room in the day for the little moments that can easily get lost during a larger wedding.
An Evening at Hotel Jerome
After the beautiful ceremony and family portraits, we headed into downtown Aspen for dinner at the iconic Hotel Jerome.
Of course, we had to stop for photographs along the way.
The historic architecture of the Jerome created a completely different atmosphere from the peaceful Japanese Garden at Aspen Meadows. We photographed Braiden and Connie outside the hotel and continued inside for some classic images.
It was the perfect transition from their quiet Aspen wedding ceremony into an elegant evening celebrating their new marriage.
Dinner was filled with the kind of moments that make intimate weddings so memorable. There were heartfelt toasts from Connie and Braiden, as well as a beautiful toast from Braiden’s sister. There was laughter, emotion, and plenty of love for this couple.
And throughout the evening, one thing was unmistakable: everyone was genuinely thrilled that these two had found each other.
A Love Story Worth Waiting For
Connie and Braiden’s small Aspen wedding was a beautiful reminder that love doesn’t follow a schedule.
Sometimes we find our person early in life.
Sometimes we find them after we’ve lived a little more, learned a little more, and experienced enough to recognize something truly special when it comes along.
For Connie and Braiden, their wedding day wasn’t about having the biggest celebration or the longest guest list. It was about standing together in a beautiful corner of Aspen, surrounded by family, and finally saying yes to the love they had both been searching for.
From the quiet beauty of the Japanese Garden at Aspen Meadows Resort to family portraits beneath Aspen Mountain and an evening at the historic Hotel Jerome, every part of their celebration felt intentional and deeply personal.
As an intimate wedding photographer, these are the celebrations I feel most honored to document—small, emotional, meaningful wedding days where the photographs preserve not only how everything looked, but how it felt.
And Braiden and Connie’s day?
It felt like love, finally found.
