Paige and Mike have been married for almost 6 years! I am so glad they chose me to commemorate these years of marriage in an anniversary session. One of my passions is shooting the evening sunset and evening's stars. This involves using off camera flash know how and the distinct quality that a wide angle prime lens gives a to a landscape.
When we arrived at Vail, we noticed that the Eagle Bahn Gondola cabins were not anywhere to be seen. As a photographer this is when my panic began to set in. We ventured over to Gondola One as a distant second choice. When we arrived we noticed shuttle vans everywhere, covering the beautiful landscape. This was set back number two. We asked around and found a lucky break: we were able to hitch a ride with a super nice shuttle driver to the other side. Another lucky break was that the night delivered with a gorgeous sunset. After this session we found another spot on their way back to Denver to capture their astro photos. Clouds set in, which could have been another set back, however, when I looked back through the images I fell in love with the stormy night. We captured lighting striking in the distance and stars peeking through the clouds. Sometimes life just works out perfectly!
I would love to hear your thoughts on this session in the comments below!
