I felt an immediate connection to the Rich family. They booked their session with me when their son Mason was 11 months old and I was so honored to be the one taking their first professional photos as a family of three. They are madly in love with Mason and it really showed in the session. I know exactly how they feel because my wife and I were the same way with our first baby. That first year with your first child is so magical and full of wonder as you experience everything anew through your babe's eyes. As a Colorado child photographer, I love to capture this experience for other families. This was a very special session for me and they loved the photos so much, they ended up buying the whole gallery! I was thrilled they were so happy!
Christina, Jon, and Mason - Colorado Child Photographer
During our session, we talked about our travel experiences and they gave me tips for my trip to Iceland next year! We had so much in common and I loved connecting with them throughout our session. I love the way they described everyone's role in their family. Jon is the jokester. Christina is the comforter. And Mason is the sun that they all revolve around. Jon was so playful with Mason, throwing him up in the air and flipping him upside down so he could touch the water. This family was so much fun! Mason was so inquisitive. He loves being outdoors and exploring the world around him. It was such a joy capturing his connection to nature and the wonder in his eyes.
My goal is to capture something real. That might present itself as curiosity, imagination, happiness, creativity, adventure or even snuggling their favorite lovey. See more of my family and child portrait work here and let's get in touch!
I was so excited when Brittny reached out to me. We used to teach photography at the same school, Eaglecrest High School in the Cherry Creek School District. Her and her family still live in Denver, so Brittny reached out to me to see if I knew any great family photographers down there. I told her she should just come up to the mountains and let me capture your family… so she did! They have a strong love for the mountains and a family home in Breckenridge, so Summit County family portraits was a great fit for them. It was really nice to see Brittny outside of work and to see her doing so well with her little family. Their 9-month-old son, Ford was such a doll!
Dillon, Brittny, and Ford's Summit County Family Portraits
Dillon, the dad, is the rock of this family, and Brittny has more of a go with the flow attitude. They make such a great team raising Ford! I wanted to capture, not just their connection with Ford but with each other as well. I always try to get a couple of portraits of just the parents, when I do family sessions. They also wanted me to capture how expressive Ford was at this age and the big, wide baby smiles that he makes. That wasn't hard to get. This babe was so full of big smiles and funny faces. Normally, he tries to crawl everywhere, but at our session, he was so happy in mom and dad's arms. I loved capturing this old friend of mine and her amazing family in such a stunning place.
I want you to cry happy tears when I deliver your gallery. When your children look back on these photos in 20-30 years, I hope that they represent a love letter to them that takes them back to these moments. I want to help create a legacy and an heirloom for your family. See more of my family portrait work here and let's get in touch!
